Two textual problems in Statius, Silvae IV 9 are examined in the following paper. At l. 30, the transmitted and meaningless tantum may be corrected into matrum, so to restore the phrase ova matrum (= hens’ eggs), also attested in Martial. Al l. 48, it is suggested to adopt a different punctuation and correct quid si into quidni.
