A careful analysis of Od. 4, 512-537 shows that its author implies the following narrative of Agamemnon's Nostos. Agamemnon is coming back home from Troy through Sparta, becouse he fears to land at the Argolic coast, where is the feud and stronghold of Thyestias Aegisthus, his traditional enemy. But, at Cape Maleas, a storm throws him just into Argolic Gulf and onto the seaside he would avoid. However, he escapes the tempest and arrives at his fatherland, but in the wrong place. Save from the waves, he falls into a deadly ambush in Aigisthus' palast, which is near the sea, on the road to Argos or Mycenae.
